My Etsy Shop

So I did it. I started an etsy shop. There are only 3 things listed, but hopefully I will have a few more listed soon. We will see what happens with my shop, I would appreciate any advice any one would like to offer! So I leave you with a picture of two of my cuddly guys. And I encourage you to hop on over bethyscreations(dot)etsy(dot)com. Thanks!

Here are some pictures of what I have been working on:

I am not sure how my two yarn projects are going to turn out. I think that the green one is going ot end up with my desired look of a country/cabin throw. The blue one however, I am now convinced is the wrong color, thickness of yarn, and, well, it's just not making me giddy.

This is one of my first tries at applique. I did some raw edge applique on my machine over the summer, but was looking to do something nicer with this sweet black blendables fabric I had. And the green leaves and pink berries looked sooooo awesome when I layed it out. However, I am not sure how to proceed with my berries - they seem too small to fold their edges under, we shall see. That part is going to have to wait until my kids are at the sitters on Friday.

And this is a quilt I have been working on for one of my friends who just had a baby boy. I want to put a blue star in the middle square here shortly. It's taking a little longer because I am hand quilting it but I had better hurry up or the kid is gunna be 5 by the time it's done!!

Thanks for stopping by!

The New Year

Ah yes, time for the ever famous, and often annoying question: What is your New Year's resolution?
I actually did put some thought into mine this year... and I came up with a few of them. Here they are:

1. To be honest about what I believe and don't believe... and live out those things. To choose what I know is important in my head and heart and make my life reflect that. To choose to not put my energy into things that I truly don't believe in.

2. To put my money and time where my mouth is. To truly be more giving. More generous. To act on the knowledge that sometimes what God asks me to give doesn't always make sense, but to trust in the One who asks it of me, rather than trusting in earthly wisdom.

3. To love my husband even more. To be less selfish, to try harder to do more of what he wants to do, to remember that he works hard to allow me to stay at home with my children, and to be more grateful for all he does.

So there they are.

What are your resolutions??
